And they also catch and eat a variety of smaller animals from rodents to reptiles. Lions steal kills from hyenas, leopards, and other predators, but may also lose their catches to hyena groups. Lions may also feed on domestic livestock, especially in areas near villages.

Most people think that lions live in all parts of Africa, but actually they are only now found in the Sahara Desert and in parts of Southern and Eastern Africa. Lions like to live in grassy open planes as it is easier for them to catch there pray.

(the picture upstairs is in africa)Lions live in africa and northwest india. Most of lions live in Africa, mainly in the Savannah, although some lions live in the Forests. Most of lions live at South Africa, Kenya, Tanzania and Senegal, and they are the largest African lions. There are also a minority in % which live at Botswana and Congo. Moreover, there are Asiatic lions which live at south-east India (Gir Forest).

The total gestation period is about eight months.Once mated, females begin depositing fat in preparation for cubbing. Females need to gain at least 200 kg (441 lb.) for a successful pregnancy.

In winter the ocean temperatures can drop to -2°C (28°F), at which point seawater begins to freeze.

A polar bear's stomach can hold an estimated 15% to 20% of its body weight. A polar bear generally eats this much only when its energy demands are high. A bear can assimilate 84% of the protein and 97% of the fat it eats.On occasion, polar bears kill beluga whales and young walruses

Polar bears need an average of 2 kg (4.4 lb.) of fat per day to obtain enough energy to survive. A ringed seal weighing 55 kg (121 lb.) could provide up to eight days of energy for a polar bear.
